Sam Chou Animation

Hi, I’m Sam Chou — an animation director based in Toronto.

This channel is where I share some of the animated projects I’ve directed — from personal shorts to series work and festival selections.

You’ll find pieces like VRDLK: Family of the Vurdulak, part of the Red Iron Road anthology, and The Death of James, based on a true story about two friends and a pet ferret. There’s also In The Heat, a hand-drawn holiday thriller, and First Snowfall, a reinterpretation of the He-Man universe.

I also created CRIME: The Animated Series, which premiered at Sundance and TIFF, and worked on features like Osmosis Jones and Eight Crazy Nights. My focus has always been on telling grounded, genre-driven stories through animation.
